Message to my fellow Lebanese
I am a candidate for parliament in the 2009 elections. If
elected, I plan to focus on developing agriculture and tourism in all the needy areas of
our beloved Lebanon.
My ambition is to implement my political agenda for change and reform.
I believe there is no hope for real change in Lebanon except by establishing several
non-sectarian parties that would group the Lebanese in the framework of a healthy
political environment.
To begin this long and hectic journey, I intend to a form along with those who share me
the belief in a Lebanon devoid of the sectarian culture, a political party aiming at
unifying the will of the Lebanese.
I intend to call this party the 'Loyalty to Lebanon
Movement', with the hope of regenerating Lebanon the way cedar trees grow into eternity.
The new party will be for all Lebanon and for all the Lebanese at home and abroad. Lebanon
is not confined to its current geographic border, because since time immemorial it has
crossed all borders and dimensions, thanks to the Lebanese dynamism and courage. I ask all
to join this Movement, and work together to create the new Lebanon we long for.
Lebanon has been suffering and will continue to suffer
unless we all move hand in hand to save it before it is tool late.
It gives me great pain to observe that the officials who were entrusted with helping, for
instance, the inhabitants of the Baalbeck-Hermel region did not do much to alleviate the
sufferings prevailing in this area, neither did they do much to help those living in
equally dire conditions in areas like Akkar and south Lebanon.
It is also more regrettable to observe that, from a practical point of view, the Shiite
community has been lacking in representatives on the governmental and parliamentarian
levels - representatives who should have placed public interest over and above the narrow
interests of their parties and private circles.
I need justice to prevail for all the Lebanese,
particularly those who fell victim to the blunt egoism that branded Lebanon's political
life.
I want to dedicate myself to fighting corruption, not only in governmental circles, but
also to help stop the corruption tradition from spreading among the Lebanese, particularly
the young generation.
I have outlined my ideas regarding agriculture and tourism. I am a serious candidate for
the parliament. I believe this responsibility would grant me the chance to serve my fellow
Lebanese.
A special salutation is also due to my readers over the
internet, to whom I pledge to make my web site a source of information to help them
understand the reality of what is going on at all times.
In this regard, I wish to confirm my believe in the
importance of knowledge exchange and its use in the present era. I therefore consider that
our strive, in this domain, is for the sake of communication and integration among nations
and peoples. This will undoubtedly result in serving mankind, human safety and security. I
am also keen that such continuous contribution will push into achieving the human right
for food and sound environment - as per UN Declaration - and for human beings to defeat
hunger and poverty to eventually achieve national and global food security Providing
current and accurate information, as soon as it is available, is an integral part of the
commitment to the Internet users, in order to facilitate the use of information in an
accurate, effective and comprehensive manner.
I would like to remind those passionate seekers of
knowledge, via the Internet, of the importance of their role, as an elite group which is
aware of the importance of agriculture, in achieving food security and in providing clean
and sound environment for the inhabitants of this Planet. I urge you to play a leading
role and to take initiatives aimed at preserving natural resources and prevent their
exploitation and deterioration. Humankind's mercy on nature is ultimately mercy on
himself. Finally, we would like to wish all those navigators through the new horizons of
knowledge, including fellow Lebanese, enjoyable discoveries of new Worlds that are
beneficial to them and to humankind. |
